Last night Eliot took us for $8 steaks which came with fries and salad. Then we went out on the town in Paddington. Today we went to the National Maritime Museum, which was pretty interesting. Like the Rocks Discovery Museum yesterday, it was surprisingly elaborate for a free museum. There was all sorts of good stuff about the Royal Australian Navy, as well as commerce and immigration. There was this weird video game where you were a ships captain buying and selling goods in the colonies. But for some reason, your ship would inexplicably sink halfway through the game and you'd have to start over.

Next we went to the Aquarium, which wasn't particularly impressive until we got to the shark tank. They have these tunnels under the tank, so the sharks get really, really close. There was a huge Manta Ray parked on the surface of the tube a few inches from my head.

The Coral Reef exhibit was pretty well done too. Lots of really weird-looking fish and algae. It made me feel better about our decision to take the southern route to Alice Springs.
